Our Staff
Carla Mizrahi, M.S.Ed, LCSWA, BCBA
Carla is the Clinical Director of Spectrum Learning Solutions. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) in North Carolina with over 20 years of experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their families.
Carla holds an undergraduate degree from The George Washington University where she majored in Psychology. She then went on to complete dual master's degrees in Special Education and Social Work from Bank Street College and Columbia University, respectively. She completed her coursework in Behavior Analysis through Florida Institute of Technology.
Carla began her career working with children with special needs at a therapeutic nursery school in New York City. There she served as a head teacher, and later a school social worker. Carla went on to build a successful private practice in New York and New Jersey coordinating home-based ABA programs for children with ASD.
Prior to moving to North Carolina, Carla worked collaboratively with the Superintendent of Schools and the Head of Special Education Services in Leonia, New Jersey. There she developed 2 intensive ABA classrooms (Elementary and Middle) in the public school system and trained staff to work with students individually using a 1:1 teaching ratio.
Carla relocated to North Carolina in 2009 and has been providing ABA services to military children and their families in the Camp Lejeune area for the past 7 years. She opened Spectrum Learning Solutions in February, 2015 and is so appreciative of the opportunity to work with so many wonderful children and families.
Angela Rogers
Angela is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She is currently working towards her Master's in Professional Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology and with plans to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Angela began working as a Behavior Therapist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2004. There she provided ABA services to children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, in a partial hospital/school setting, in the home, and in the community. Angela moved to North Carolina in 2009 and has spent the last 7 years providing behavioral services to children with ASD as a 1:1 therapist. With over 13 years of experience, Angela has quickly become an invaluable member of our therapy team.
Amber Smith
Amber is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina. She is currently working towards her Assistant Behavior Analysis (BCaBA) Certificate at Florida Institute of Technology. She hopes to go on to complete her Master’s in Professional Behavior Analysis and become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Amber first worked as a Behavior Therapist during her undergraduate practice in South Carolina, where she found her passion for working one on one with children with special needs. After obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree, Amber participated in Americorps NCCC for a year, where she traveled the west coast volunteering to help adults and children with unmet needs in areas of education, childcare, structural insecurity, lack of proper housing, and environmental/ fire safety. Upon completion of this program, Amber relocated to Topsail Island and began working with children on the autism spectrum, using ABA practices. She has worked 1:1 with children and families in their homes as well as the clinic setting to help them achieve goals and meet developmental milestones.
